Job Opportunity: Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Job Description

• Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient conditions.
• Establish, revise, and evaluate individualized plans of care involving patients and families.
• Deliver therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques appropriate to patient conditions.
• Oversee activities of physical therapy assistants, students, and support personnel.
• Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
• Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Oklahoma.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant within the last year.

Required Credentials & Documentation

Must be submitted prior to assignment:

• Resume or professional profile.
• At least two professional references.
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (not expired, matching address requirements).

Must be completed and submitted prior to or at onboarding:

• Signed assignment agreement (offer letter, initial confirmation, and extensions).
• Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
• Health and immunization documentation including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Varicella immunity (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Influenza vaccine (optional; if declined during flu season, mask required).
  • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes, with follow-up chest X-ray and questionnaire if positive.
• Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start; required for all travelers).
• Health statement or physical exam confirming good health, updated annually.
• Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender registry, and others, updated annually or after breaks in service.
• Employment verification for the past seven years, updated annually or after breaks in service.
• Education verification relevant to clinical work, completed within 90 days of start.
• Skills checklist for specialty, completed within one year of start and updated annually.
• 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually or after breaks in service.
• Confirmation of assignment documentation upon initial assignment and each extension.
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, stressful acute care environment.
• Critical thinking and independent judgment are essential.
• Personal protective equipment use is mandatory following standard precautions.
