Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technician (Travel)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Cardiac Nuclear Medicine Technician
• Setting: Outpatient
• Required to work on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
• Equipment: GE Discovery 530C nuclear camera

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification
• CRT/FL or RT (N) (ARRT) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be AHA)
• Current state license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) completed within one year, updated yearly, minimum 80% score
• Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation
• Health and Immunization Requirements:

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred prior to start
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Positive PPD/Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire (preferred)
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within required timeframes
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
• Statement of Good Health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Professional Documentation & Verification

• Resume/Profile submission required
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other checks completed within 30 days prior to assignment
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days prior to start
• Ascension Skills Checklist completed within one year of start, updated annually
• Education Verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
• Confirmation of Assignment documentation on agency letterhead with accurate dates
• Employment Verification for past seven years, updated annually

Additional Notes

• Medical Imaging Contract Worker Form completed onsite by facility
• TB documentation and questionnaires must be updated annually or as required
• Breaks in service over 90 days require re-verification or re-testing of certain credentials and checks

This position is ideal for Nuclear Medicine Technicians who meet the certification and licensing requirements and are comfortable working in an outpatient cardiac nuclear medicine setting with specific holiday coverage.
