Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT) - Grand Haven, Michigan

Job Details

• Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (alternative shift 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: 1.5 weekends per month
• Holiday Requirement: Memorial Day is not mandatory
• Experience: Must have experience with Meditech system

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technician, with experience within the last year
• Experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT)
• Experience with MEDITECH system
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Health and Immunization Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccine proof including booster or approved exemption (valid through October 2026)
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer lab report
• Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start date (3-shot series required; titers not accepted)
• Influenza vaccine: Optional but recommended (proof or declination accepted except in CA or IL)
• Varicella: Proof of 1 vaccination or IgG titer lab report
• Tdap: Current, non-expired vaccine required; declination accepted if no pediatric interaction
• Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test required; positive TB requires chest x-ray within last year for Michigan
• Fit test for respirator (specific to location; 1860 mask for Iowa only)
• Physical/Health Statement: Documentation of fitness to work within the last year
• Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)

Professional and Compliance Requirements

• Resume and skills checklist within the past year
• Two professional references
• Signed confidentiality, conflict of interest, code of conduct, and integrity/audit forms
• Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) with SSN verification dated within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma/GED
• EPLS and GSA/OIG exclusion checks dated within 30 days
• National Sex Offender Registry check dated within 30 days (including statewide for Michigan)
• System access form completed and uploaded one week before start
• Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the past year
• Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors
• Joint Commission CORE exam within the past year
• Standard I-9 completed by agency
• Respirator evaluation with physician signature (on-site completion for Muskegon & Grand Rapids locations)
• Color vision testing

This position requires a licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist with experience in Meditech, able to work evening shifts with weekend coverage, and meet comprehensive health, immunization, and professional compliance standards.
