Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Temporary Position

Job Description

• Implement components of patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT)
• Obtain data related to treatments provided
• Collaborate with PT to modify care as necessary
• Assist patients with stretching and exercising specific muscle groups
• Follow instructions from the Physical Therapist
• Work directly with PT to assist patients of all ages, from newborns to end-of-life care
• Communicate with families to identify best at-home techniques
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of physical therapy areas
• Assist patients in moving from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy areas
• Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork
• Teach patients techniques including balance training

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience (Required)
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation (Required)
• Valid PTA license (Required)
• Must meet state licensing requirements for Missouri (Compact License Allowed)

Work Environment

• 8-hour shifts, night shift available
• Facility is a 282-bed skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation center
• Patient population includes orthopedic, cognitive, dietary, and neurological diagnoses
• Mix of short-term rehab patients and long-term care residents
• Collaborative, high-energy in-house therapy team
• Focus on compassionate care and rehabilitation excellence
