ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Location: Metairie, Louisiana
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Schedule and Work Setting

• Weekend shifts required: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Floating required to all ICUs, with possible float to the ED, PACU, and occasionally MS/PCU units
• Patient ratio is typically 1:2 and may flex to 1:3
• Nurses perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts

Additional Notes

• Must be able to care for isolation patients, including patients with COVID-19
• N95 mask size should be known
• RTO is limited to 5 days total
