Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Escondido, California
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
  • No locals
  • Float may be required between both hospitals
  • Call may be required
  • Weekends may be required

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN license in California
  • Intermediate Care (1 year of experience)
  • Intermediate Care experience within the last year
  • 1 year or more of total travel experience
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Driver's License
  • Must pass a tele test at orientation to remain on assignment, with 2 attempts maximum

Preferred

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap

Required Documents and Compliance

  • Driver’s license or state ID with address, front and back copy
  • 7-year background search within 30 days of start, including county criminal search, national criminal search, sex offender search, FACIS 3, OIG/GSA, and OFAC
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM within 30 days of start and then monthly
  • HHS/OIG within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
  • HIPAA acknowledgement
  • Pass/fail arrhythmia exam prior to start
  • NURSYS verification
  • Online orientation
  • Flu declination form
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start and updated annually
  • Fit mask within 12 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start and updated annually
  • TB questionnaire annually for past positive TB
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
  • Medical and employee information release form
  • 2 references within 3 years of hire from a manager, supervisor, or charge RN
  • Employment application
  • Skills checklist, updated annually

Additional Training and Testing

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam for all RN specialties
  • Unit specialty competency exam
  • Core Part I, II, and III competency requirements
  • Cardiac rhythms course
  • EKG/medication pass-fail testing applies to Tele-related RN units and EKG Monitor Tele Techs

Notes

  • Cerner EMR is used
  • NIH Stroke Certification is required for listed units, but this role is not named among them
