Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Baltimore, Maryland
- 13-week contract
- 36 hours per week
- Rotating day/night schedule: 3x12, 7:00–19:30 / 19:00–7:30
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays required as scheduled
- On-call may be required
- Floating required within the specialty to lower-acuity areas as needed
- Adults/Geriatrics patient population
- 15 beds/rooms
- Average daily census: 10
- Ratio: 1:1, up to 3 with stable lower-acuity patients
- Navy blue scrub color
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- CVICU (2 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Impella
- Experience with VAD management
- Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
- Experience with CRRT
- Experience with bedside central/A-line insertions
- Experience with chest tube insertion
- Experience with swan-ganz catheters
- Experience with targeted temperature management
- Experience with mechanical support devices
Preferred Qualifications
- CCRN
Clinical Focus
- Cardiogenic shock
- Cardiac arrest
- Heart failure
- Cardiac arrhythmias, including heart blocks and other rhythm disruptions
- MI
- PH
- Advanced therapy workups, including LVAD and heart transplants
- Mechanical support devices, including IABP and Impella
- Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
- Hypertensive urgency/emergency
