Job Overview

• Travel/contract ICU RN role in Atlantic City, New Jersey
• Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of experience in critical care
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Ability to manage ventilated patients
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) experience
• Endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning
• Continuous IV paralytics and neuromuscular blockade administration
• Continuous IV sedation administration
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Titration of cardiac drips and vasoactive drips
• IV insulin protocol management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with Cerner

Clinical Experience and Skills

• ICU experience in medical, surgical, trauma, and neuro settings
• Experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABGs, suctioning, IVs, central/PICC/arterial lines, ports, blood products, phlebotomy, infection prevention, and isolation precautions
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, emergency medications, procedural sedation monitoring, vasoactive/cardiac drips, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience interpreting dysrhythmias, obtaining 12-lead EKGs, and managing multisystem organ failure and acute stroke/CVA patients

Unit Details

• 26-bed ICU
• Typical patient ratio: 1:2–3
• May float to step-down/PCU and other critical care areas
• Travelers are first to float between the Atlantic City and Mainland campuses

Scheduling and Orientation

• Schedule requests must be submitted at the time of application
• No block scheduling
• Orientation is 6 days, Monday through Friday plus a required return the following Monday for Day 6
• Missed shifts may need to be made up during the same week or at the end of the assignment

Additional Notes

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Government-issued photo ID and work authorization verification are required
• 2 current references from a supervisor or educator are required
• Resume must document 2 years of recent, job-posting-related experience
