Oncology RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Saint Louis, Missouri
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start date: 3–4 weeks out per compliance tier
• Ratios: 1:4–5; 1:3 BMT for all shifts
• First-timers accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Will float within service line
• No local candidates accepted within 75 mile radius
• Pending license accepted
• No on-call
• No block schedule accommodation
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
• Oncology experience with 1 year of experience
• Oncology experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• IV start capability
• Chemotherapy administration (for non-Tennessee licensed nurses)
• Tracheostomy care
• Accessing and managing ports and central lines
• Stem cell transplantation patient care (for experienced staff)
• Must be able to work with Medical Oncology and BMT patients as described in the posting

Unit Details

• RN/Oncology
• Medical Oncology: solid tumor cases including lung, breast, and pancreatic
• BMT: leukemia and bone cases
• Average stay: 3–5 days
• BMT unit has 96 beds
• Special equipment: CAD pumps
• No vents
