Role Overview

• Travel/Contract RN assignment in Los Angeles, California.
• 13-week contract.
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30.
• Float scope includes Med-Surg.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California.
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience).
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
• One completed travel assignment.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI.
• NIHSS.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience working with Post Cardiac Cath patients.
• Experience working with Cardiac Surgery patients.
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath.
• Blood Product Administration.
• Central line care/management.
• Experience with PICC lines.
• IV insertion skills.
• Phlebotomy skills.
• Heparin Protocols.
• Experience with cardiac or critical care drips.
• Experience with Epic.

Preferred Qualifications

• None stated.

Unit Details

• Average census: 36.
• 36 rooms/beds.
• Ratio: 1:4.
• Every other weekend coverage required.
• No call requirement.
• Scrubs: Royal Blue.

Clinical Skills

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Telemetry monitoring on the unit and remotely.
• Use of Rapid Response Teams.
• Post Cardiac Angiogram.
• Post MI.
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath.
• Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery.
• Blood product administration.
• Central line care/management.
• PICC line management.
• Starting IVs.
• Heparin protocols.
• Manage cardiac drips, no titration.
• Manage vasoactive drips, no titration.
• Chest tubes: Emerson/Pleuravac.
• External CPAP/BIPAP.
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
• Nasal cannula.
• Non-invasive airway management.
• Oxygen face masks.
• Tracheostomy management.

Scheduling Notes

• RTO must be submitted with the application.
• No RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment.
