Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Athens, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
Typical Patient Diagnoses: Spine and neck surgical patients, stroke patients, medical surgical overflow
Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
Average Daily Census: 30 patients
Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
Call: None
Holiday Work: Required to work 1 or 2 major holidays if they fall during the assignment (major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Compliance: Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
Locals Accepted: Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Prior Travel Experience: Not required; 1st time travelers accepted

This position offers a challenging night shift role caring for adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients with a focus on spine, neck, and stroke care in a fast-paced environment using Epic and other clinical systems.
