• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
• Weekend work required

Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy services rotating through NICU, ICU, COVID units, ER, floor, nursery, and other acute care settings.
• Responsibilities include ventilator management, oxygen therapy, airway management, respiratory treatments, suctioning, arterial blood gases (ABGs), EKGs, and care during high-risk deliveries.
• May stabilize infants in Level 2 nursery, including use of ventilators, RAM cannula, Vapotherm, and heated nasal cannulas.
• Scrub color: Ceil blue and/or black.
• Must reside within 100 miles of the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Arkansas
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with experience within the last year
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Skills in ventilator management

Preferred Qualifications

• Bedside Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience.
• Bronchoscopy experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (AHA preferred).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and nursery experience.

Required Certifications and Compliance

• BLS (AHA) required for all clinical candidates.
• ACLS and PALS preferred if possible.
• NRP as required.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
• Education verification.
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • TB screening (negative PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot within 1 year).
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination).
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low titer).
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (required annually during flu season; religious and medical exemptions accepted).
  • COVID vaccination or declination accepted.
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually.
• Facility-specific documents including disclosure agreements and TB/HepB forms.
• Competency exams as applicable (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG for Telemetry units).
• Proof of 2 clinical references.
• Employment application and skills checklist updated annually.

• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service.
• Attestation and verification documents required prior to start.
• Performance evaluations required if previously employed with the facility for over 1 year.
• Must comply with facility safety and orientation requirements.
