Job Overview

• Location: Seattle, Washington

Role Summary

• Level III or IV NICU role caring for very premature neonates, including 23–24 weeks gestation.
• Travelers are usually not assigned to admit babies because the unit has a dedicated Admit Nurse.
• The role may involve rare floating to other campuses or to Pediatrics/Newborn Nursery, with care limited to newborns or infants if floated there.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington.
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (3 years of experience).
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Oncology experience.
• Open to floating to different campuses.
• NURSYS verification required.
• EFM certification required.
• CHEMO certification required.
• IV certification required.
• NIH Stroke certification required.
• CPI certification required.
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification required.
• Competency exam required as applicable by profession/specialty.
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable by profession.
• Skills checklist required for the applicable unit.
• Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment total within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
• Employment application required and must include at least the last 5 years of employment.
• Work history verification may be required if used in place of reference requirements.
• Fit mask clearance required for travel starts.
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
• Negative TB or chest X-ray required.
• Tdap required within 10 years.
• Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, flu, COVID, and drug testing documentation required per onboarding requirements.
• Background check and state-specific Washington search required.
• Education verification required.
• Social Security card, government-issued photo ID, and E-Verify attestation required.

Additional Notes

• Block scheduling may be approved.
• Travelers must be separated from any Providence-affiliated permanent role for at least 3 months before qualifying for this travel position.
• Float policy acknowledgement is required.
