Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Euclid, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit during night shifts.
Must work at least every other holiday.
Orientation includes passing an ECG rhythm recognition test and a medication administration exam (SafeMedicate).

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum 1.5 years of recent Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year.
Current ACLS certification.
Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Required Documentation & Compliance

Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
Background checks including a 7-year criminal history, education verification, and monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
FBI and BCI fingerprinting completed within 12 months and updated annually.
Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform job functions safely.
Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers.
- Varicella vaccinations or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination.
- Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
Drug screening: Standard 10-panel within 12 months, updated annually.
Snellen eye exam within 1 year.
Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start.
Nursys verification within 30 days of start.
Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start.
Completion of SafeMedicate prep materials prior to orientation.
Baseline competency exams (medication administration and ECG interpretation) during orientation with required passing scores.

References & Work History

Two professional references from within one year of start date (manager, supervisor, ANM, charge nurse, or director).
Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history, with 2 years in acute care and similar specialty.

Additional Notes

Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
Candidates returning with less than a 6-month gap between contracts may have some orientation requirements waived.
All certifications expiring within 30 days of start must be renewed prior to starting.
Candidates must complete all onboarding modules on a computer using Google Chrome; modules cannot be completed on a phone.
Facility requires latex allergy notification if applicable.

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or compact states, comfortable with night shifts and working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
