Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job – Lancaster, California


Position Overview

  • Fast-paced radiation therapy clinic averaging ~35 treatments per day.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week).
  • No weekends, no on-call, no float required.
  • Patient population: Adult and geriatric patients with cancer diagnoses.
  • Equipment: One Varian treatment machine and one departmental CT simulator.
  • Provider support available from IV teams, pharmacy, radiology, and social services.
  • Orientation: 8 hours.
  • Scrubs: Wine/burgundy color required but not provided.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in California.
  • Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year.
  • ARRT or ARRT T certification.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience working with adult patients.
  • Experience in an acute care setting.
  • Experience in an outpatient setting.

Contract Details

  • Contract length: 13 weeks.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
  • Education verification and diploma/transcripts.
  • Primary source verification of state license prior to start.
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
  • Physical exam within last 12 months.
  • Fit testing for respirators (N95) required annually; fit testing available onsite.
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.
    • Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declination requires proof of non-immune status).
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (declination requires notification and accommodations).
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season.
  • Drug screening: 10-panel oral drug screen within 1 year of start.
  • Respirator questionnaire and RespSafety clearance annually.
  • Employment application and annual skills checklist.
  • Facility-specific forms including job description acknowledgement, health focus questionnaire, and exemption forms if applicable.

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
