Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Winfield, Illinois
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Overview

• On-call availability required with a 30-minute call time.
• On-call schedule: 13.5 hours on weekdays; number of call days varies based on staff availability. Call days are rotated among team members.
• Weekend work required.
• Meal break length: 30 minutes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year.
• Associate Degree in Applied Sciences.
• ARRT Certification.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
• Experience with Epic system.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience overall.
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role within active interventional cardiac cath, NeuroIR, IR, or EP labs.
• Bachelor of Science Degree.

Specialty & Procedures

• Special Procedures include: biopsies, central venous catheters (CVC), PICC lines, tunneled hemodialysis catheters, post placements, fistulograms, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, drain placements, ureteral stents, nephrostomy tubes, thrombectomies, thrombolysis, Y-90 treatments, embolizations.
• Cath Lab procedures: diagnostic and interventional, including IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound), and IMPELLA device use.
• Equipment experience: Siemens C-Arm (single and bi-plane), GE ultrasound.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Current and valid Driver’s License or Government Photo ID with address preferred.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG within 30 days of start.
• Education verification of highest degree completed; transcripts/diploma must match degree.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and no physical limitations.
• Fit mask test (3M Aura 1870+) within 12 months of start, updated annually.
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (TD not accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol.
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive IgG titer or 2 vaccines with boosters if needed.
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or positive titer (declinations accepted).
  • Varicella: positive IgG titer or 2 vaccines with boosters if needed.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or declination form.
• Drug screening: 10-panel within 30 days of start; no instant or dilute tests accepted.
• OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance required if fit test failed.
• Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprinting required prior to start; must be completed in Illinois.

Certifications Required

• ARRT Certification (Radiology Technologist).
• IEMA Licensure.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, RQI accepted.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, RQI accepted, within 6 months of hire.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Candidate must be able to meet on-call requirements and weekend shifts.
• Competency exams and facility-specific training modules must be completed prior to or shortly after start.
• Various facility-specific agreements and acknowledgements must be signed before starting.
• Employment history must cover 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
