Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Endoscopy)
• Shift: Day shift, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (5 days a week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
• Patient Ratios:

  • Procedure suite: 1:1
  • Pre-op and Discharge: up to 4:1
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• On-call: Yes
• Floating: May float within scope to like units, but highly unlikely
• Travel Radius: Must stay within 30 minutes of the facility to respond to calls as expected
• Local Candidates: Accepted on a case-by-case basis

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience, with Endoscopy experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License and Social Security Card copies required
• Completed and accurate I-9 form and E-Verify attestation confirming work eligibility in the US
• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County, state, and national criminal checks
  • Sex offender registry
  • Employment and education verification
• Primary source verification of active, unencumbered South Carolina RN license
• NURSYS verification required
• Proof of 2 clinical references, including at least one from the unit of assignment
• Complete employment application/resume with no unexplained gaps
• Annual skills checklist for applicable unit
• Facility-specific job description signed prior to start
• Clear, passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Initial physical exam within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to meet job demands without restrictions
• Annual respirator medical clearance (RespSafety virtual questionnaire)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
• Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or documented history with chest x-ray as applicable
• Annual TB questionnaire
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete facility vaccination declination form
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (August 1 – March 31) with documentation uploaded by December 5 deadline

Orientation and Onboarding

• Completion of facility-specific First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay modules prior to orientation (approx. 2-6 hours depending on location)
• Upload COVID and flu vaccination documentation into facility platform
• Completion of confidentiality, security agreements, contractor forms, and badge request prior to start
• Radiation badge required only if assigned to specific units (not required for Endoscopy RN)

Additional Notes

• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Hurricane season (June–November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new assignments during peak months (August–September) if this is a concern
