CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Billings, Montana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Facility Overview

  • Level 1 trauma hospital and comprehensive stroke center
  • 24/7 CT coverage
  • Average patient volume: 120 patients per 24-hour period (outpatients, inpatients, emergency department)
  • Night shift covers CT and diagnostic X-Ray, shared among 3 techs

Job Responsibilities & Equipment

  • Operate CT and diagnostic X-Ray equipment during night shift
  • Venipuncture preferred but not required on some shifts
  • Equipment used includes Siemens Somatom Edge and Force CT scanners, MedRad Injectors

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Montana
  • Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only; certificates of completion NOT accepted)
  • ARRT CT or ARRT Radiography (R) certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Current and valid driver’s license, government photo ID, or passport
  • Background check: 7-year criminal history, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS L1, education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Education verification of highest level completed
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, or PA (must confirm good health and ability to perform job duties)
  • Quantitative fit test with 3M mask within 90 days prior to start (qualitative tests not accepted; must be clean shaven)
  • Negative drug screen within 30 days of start, including a 9-panel plus additional specified substances; must be renewed annually
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (TDAP preferred within 10 years or signed declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual renewal
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31) or approved exemption
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption

References & Employment History

  • Two references required, including one direct supervisor reference within the last year (letters accepted)
  • Current employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Disclosure required if previously worked at this facility or health system

Additional Notes

  • Skills checklist and work history verification preferred
  • Client approvals for certifications and licenses coordinated through compliance
  • Temporary licenses are NOT accepted

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity trauma and stroke center with advanced imaging technology during night shifts. It is suitable for CT Technologists with at least one year of CT experience and required certifications who are open to travel assignments and meet the licensing and compliance requirements.
