Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) - Travel/Contract

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Certified OR Tech with strong proficiency in orthopedic, neurosurgery, and general surgical services. The position requires working 3 twelve-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) with call rotation, occasional weekends, and holiday coverage.

Schedule Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Weekend rotation required
• Call rotation required
• Must work at least one holiday during the 13-week contract
• Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Certified Surgical Technologist license in Virginia
• Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Strong experience in general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and neurosurgery

Clinical Environment

• Level I trauma OR with 25 OR suites, 24/7 nursing coverage
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics
• Surgical specialties include general, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, robotic surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and sports medicine
• Special equipment used: ROSA, Si and Xi daVinci robots, stealth, O-Arm, HIPEC

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID with address more than 100 miles from facility (radius rule applies)
• E-Verify or attestation required
• 7-year background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years (not required annually unless break in assignments >30 days)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification of highest earned degree
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit test for mask within 1 year, updated annually (onsite fit testing possible if needed)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Photo for badge (professional, plain background)
• Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
• Orientation manual review and acknowledgment prior to start

• Two clinical references or hospital evaluations required

• Medication and competency exams as applicable
