Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Covington, Louisiana
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 40
• Daily Caseload: 4 rooms, 12-15 cases per day
• Work with a team of approximately 20 physicians
• Call Requirement: 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month
• Electronic Medical Record System: EPIC required
• Preferred Equipment: GE Innova
• Preferred Monitoring/Recording Systems: Maclab, Xper
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • ARRT (Registered Radiologic Technologist) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification accepted
• Valid Driver's License
• EPIC experience required

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including social security trace, sex offender, federal checks, and others; must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded panel depending on hire date)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months of start and annually
• Competency exams required within 12 months of start and updated annually, including:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (must score 80% or higher)
  • Core Part I, II, and III competency exams
• Physical exam not required by employer but may be required by placement agency
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper forms)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per current guidelines
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella (boosters required if titers low)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination (declinations must be signed within 12 months of start)
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (boosters required if titer low)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with exemptions and declinations accepted under specific forms; mask required if unvaccinated

Additional Information

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification may be required depending on unit; not specifically required for this role
• Must comply with employee appearance policy and flu declination policies
• Candidates must complete all required documentation and certifications within specified timeframes after start date
