X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology) - Travel/Contract

Location: Newark, New York
Shift: Day, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (37.5 guaranteed hours)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Float required to all other locations
  • Special Procedures/Unit Details:
    • Orthopedic experience preferred
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be flexible, dependable, punctual, adaptable, and have strong communication skills
  • Imaging skills include: Ankle, Femur, Foot, Knee, Cervical Spine, Hip, Lumbar Spine, Thoracic Spine, AC joints, Clavicle, Elbow, Forearm, Hand, Humerus, Scapula, Shoulder, Thumb or finger, Wrist
  • First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technician license in New York
  • Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year
  • Certification: ARRT (Radiologic Technologist)
  • Current BLS certification

Health and Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire acceptable in lieu of annual renewal
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
  • Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Documentation and Verification

  • Employment application required
  • Work history verification: at least 2 past employments verified (any job-related)
  • References: 2 references within 3 years (required for direct hire only)
  • Skills checklist required annually
  • Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)

State-Specific Requirements (New York)

  • Sex offender registry search within 30 days of start
  • Medicaid exclusion list check within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter
  • Fingerprinting and additional background checks may be required for certain units (Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Home Health Aide, LTC) — confirm if applicable

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted but at a lower rate (not relevant for pay disclosure)
  • Candidate must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract
