Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to work days on an every-other-week (EOW) schedule. The role requires independent functioning in a Level I Trauma ER setting, managing trauma patients in the Trauma Bay.


Required Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of Level I Trauma ER experience as a T1 nurse (higher end of range applies)
  • Must be able to function independently in trauma care
  • Recent acute care experience: 2 years consecutive within the past 24 months in a US hospital
  • Epic electronic health record experience required

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Active Florida RN license (Compact license accepted)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) via AHA or ARC
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) via AHA or ARC
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, Apex, Blue Cloud, or equivalent)

Additional Required Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited nursing school or approved institution by Florida Board of Nursing
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Background check within 6 months including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start, signed by DO, MD, NP, APRN, or PA
  • Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months (no TSPOT or PPD accepted)
  • Annual fit mask test with approved masks (3M 1860 Regular or Small)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • 2 professional references within the last 2 years
  • Completion of required online orientation and compliance modules

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

  • Typically 4:1 or 5:1 depending on assignment area
