Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (Med/Surg)

Location: Lebanon, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Shift: 4x12 hour night shifts (1800-0630)
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 3 weekends in a 6-week period (6 PM - 6:30 AM)
• On-call: Possible on-call shifts
• Floating: May be required to float depending on unit/hospital needs
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Med/Surg)
• First-time travelers: Accepted
• Local candidates: Accepted if within 50 miles radius

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA only, instructor and provider cards accepted)
• BLS (AHA only)
• PALS (AHA only, required to start due to pediatric admissions on unit)
• NIHSS
• Telemetry experience required
• Ambulatory and Med/Surg experience preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Indiana
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• PALS certification mandatory before start

Additional Requirements

• Call-in policy: If a traveler calls in, they must pick up another shift to make up for it
• Professional appearance; scrub color is flexible but must look professional
• Charting system: Meditech

Background & Compliance

• 7-year background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually
• Transcript/Diploma verification required
• Physical exam within 12 months, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually (3M 1860R or 1860S masks accepted)
• Immunizations and titers required: Tdap, TB test, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually
• 2 professional references required
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required
• Color blindness test required

Notes

• Travelers must have PALS certification before starting due to pediatric patients on the unit
• Floating and on-call shifts are possible based on hospital needs
• Minimum 3 weekends in 6 weeks required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
