Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Correctional)

Job Description

• Perform medical and mental health history taking, initial and ongoing physical and mental status examinations, assessments, suicide screening, and observation upon patient arrival to identify health needs and establish baseline data.
• Facilitate therapeutic communication and establish individualized nursing care plans.
• Carry out independent and interdependent nursing interventions.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Set up and maintain IV lines. Provide continuous pain assessment and management.
• Provide patient education to increase awareness and insight into health status.
• Assist with referrals, transfers, and interdisciplinary collaboration to meet patients' personal and physical needs.

Required Qualifications

• Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Correctional Nursing

  • Annual TB questionnaire completion
  • Vaccination documentation or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Drug testing (9 panel) within 1 year of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination for 2025-26
  • COVID-19 vaccine booster preferred but not required
• References: Two professional references required
