Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, 0800-1630, with 2 required weekend shifts
  • Call: Required as needed
  • Float: Required
  • No first-time travelers accepted
  • No local candidates accepted

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience in Acute Care
  • Must demonstrate a level 4 on the skills checklist for acute care
  • Experience with Activities of Daily Living, adult OT, and Orthopedics required
  • Experience handling Adult Acute Therapy in ICU, ED, Med Surg, Ortho, Neuro, and Cardiac settings

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start
  • EPIC experience required
  • State License verification within 30 days of start
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification)
  • Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) may be required depending on unit

Compliance & Documentation

  • Background checks must be completed and cleared before start date, including:
    • 7-year history including Pima County, AZ
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Drug testing (12 panel) must be completed within 72 hours of booking and within 30 days of assignment start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by physician, NP, or PA
  • Fit mask testing (N95) within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (full vaccine within 10 years; declinations allowed except for certain units)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start
    • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season Oct 1 - Apr 30)
  • Employment application with last 7 years of work history and explanation of gaps over 30 days
  • Two professional references from employment within last 3 years, including one supervisory reference
  • Annual skills checklist update required

Additional Notes

  • Orientation is held twice a month
  • Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced acute care environment with multiple adult therapy populations
  • Prior travel experience is required; no first-time travelers accepted
