Job Summary

Seeking experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses to join a team-based unit caring for neonates, infants, and adults. The unit handles labor (vaginal deliveries), C-sections, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and D&C procedures.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• First-time travelers not accepted

Patient Population

• Neonates/Infants and Adults

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Intermediate (Preferred)

Work Environment & Details

• Unit has 16 Labor & Delivery beds with an average daily census of 15
• 6-bed Labor & Delivery Triage area
• Patient ratio typically 1:1 to 1:2
• Electronic Medical Record system: Epic (required)
• Other systems: Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub color provided by facility
• Return to Orientation (RTO) maximum 7 days
• Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Weekend shifts: 3 per contract
• Call requirements: 2 calls per 6 weeks for AM & PM shifts
• Holiday work expectations apply for major holidays during assignment

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time
• Orientation scheduling is bi-weekly; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience with labor and delivery procedures including vaginal births, C-sections, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and D&C procedures
• Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record system
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Additional Requirements

• Background check completed within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification required (degree related to nursing)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • Flu vaccination or declination during flu season
• Color blindness test required
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months
• Work history verification and 2 clinical references required

Scheduling & Floating

• Floating within the facility as needed and within scope of practice
• Weekend shifts and call requirements as noted above

Notes

• Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted for this role.
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
