Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
Seeking a Radiation Therapist with experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialties. This role involves working with adult patients and requires specific technical skills and certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 3 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience with Variam Truebeam system
- Experience with Epic charting system
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Must hold valid ARRT certifications relevant to Radiation Therapy and Radiography
- BLS certification from AHA
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) but BLS is mandatory
- State licensure as applicable for Radiation Therapists in North Carolina
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including SSN trace, education verification, and various federal/state checks must be completed within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Flu vaccine (mandatory, no exemptions)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months, including at least one supervisor
- Employment application and skills checklist must be completed and updated annually
- Candidate must set up a Duke Guest Account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within 75 miles considered with adjusted rates
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific onboarding and competency requirements
- Candidates with less than a 30-day gap from previous Duke assignments may have some documentation requirements waived or accepted on file
This position is ideal for experienced Radiation Therapists who meet the certification and technical skill requirements and are ready to commit to a 13-week travel contract in North Carolina.
