Shift: Nights, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years Medical Surgical (MS) nursing experience (higher value confirmed)
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)

Required Certifications and Licenses

BLS (Basic Life Support) - required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - preferred
Licensure: Candidates with pending RN certifications will be considered
RN license verification required (NURSYS verification within 2 days of submission)

Additional Requirements

Must comply with a 60-mile radius rule for travel
Biweekly orientation on Mondays
Professional appearance with scrubs allowed in any color; child-friendly print tops and lab coats allowed
Nicotine-free campus

Health and Compliance Requirements

Physical exam within 6 months of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start (marijuana not required)
Flu vaccination required during flu season (medical and religious exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
Background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender, and FACIS Level 3
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start

Documentation and Competencies

Candidate profile with work history
Specialty-specific skills checklist
Minimum 2 manager/charge references within past 2 years
Signed orientation safety manual acknowledgment
Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
Color blind testing (Ishihara) required
Other certifications and competencies as applicable by specialty and facility requirements

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a night shift travel assignment in Virginia.

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
