Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 4x10-hour shifts, 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM
- Call Requirement: 90-120 hours of call over a 6-week schedule
- Specialty: Surgical Services (CVOR Tech)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Level 1 Trauma Center, Vascular, Thoracic surgery cases
- First Time Travelers: Accepted if they have Level 1 Trauma experience

Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist
- CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Proficient in receiving pump lines from perfusion and preparing them for cannulation
- Experience with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
- Experience with Atherectomy
- Experience with Atrial Septal Defect Repair
- Experience with Cardiomyoplasty
- Experience with Carotid Endarterectomy
- Experience with Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
- Experience with Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)
Required Certifications
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
License Requirement
- Must hold a valid license appropriate for the CVOR Tech role (per state regulations)
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted with Level 1 Trauma experience
Important Facility Notes
- Indiana RNs are restricted from starting new contracts after 9/9/2024 unless they are Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, or Ambulatory RN travelers (these groups are exempt and can work past 11/30/2024).
- Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS.
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators approved)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (strongly recommended)
- TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
- Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
Background & Documentation
- Background check within 90 days of start, including 7 years of residence/work history, education verification, and criminal checks
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Transcript or diploma verification required
- Employment application with full work history and explanation of gaps over 30 days
- Minimum 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
Competency & Orientation
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Unit competency exam required
- Facility-specific orientation and safety modules must be completed prior to start
- HIPAA and confidentiality agreements required
