Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Must have Pennsylvania state license in hand before starting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Respiratory Therapy required.
• First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience not required.
• Work every other week (EOW) schedule.
• Patient population includes pediatric patients in the Emergency Department and admitted patients over 13 years of age.
• Responsibilities include bedside bronchoscopy.
• Use of specialized respiratory equipment such as Servo I/U, Hamilton C1, V60, Air Sense/Air Curve, INO Max, OptiFlow, Airvo, Micro Max, Panda Warmer, and Boston Scientific Exhault for bronchoscopy.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience working with pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications as applicable (check facility requirements).
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
• Respirator Fit Test within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required prior to start.
• Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by a licensed provider.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
• Required immunizations or titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season.
• COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses) or approved exemption; booster not required at this time.

Background & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start.
• Education verification of highest level completed.
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search clearance (no pending results allowed).
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required (results within 5 years accepted).
• Completion of facility-required compliance modules including HIPAA, DEI, Infection Control, OSHA, Safety, Security, Emergency Preparedness, Sexual Harassment, and SOGI Caregiver training.
• Personal appearance and confidentiality agreements must be reviewed and signed.
