Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Care for patients with liver, kidney, and pancreatic diseases
- Care for recipients of liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants
- Manage patients with complex gastrointestinal disorders
- Serve as a med-surg/telemetry overflow unit
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend
- Floating to other units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Transplant experience with liver, kidney, and pancreas patients
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC
- Other certifications may be required based on position (verify with recruiter)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, and education verification
- FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
- Education verification (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test for approved masks within 1 year, renewed annually
- TB screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations: Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu seasonal vaccination (during flu season)
- Other health documents as required (e.g., color blind exam if applicable)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units
- Pass/fail testing (EKG/medication) may be required onsite after start for ICU RNs
Additional Information
- Must have full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps over 30 days
- Employment verification required for up to 7 years
- References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, and regulatory orientation prior to start
- Religious exemptions for PAPR and vaccine requirements considered on a case-by-case basis
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend
- Floating to other units as needed
This position is ideal for experienced transplant RNs comfortable with complex med-surg and telemetry patients, working nights, and flexible to float within the unit.
