Job Overview
This position is for a Registered Nurse performing primarily administrative duties related to employee health and case management. This is a non-patient-facing role. Responsibilities include reviewing onboarding documents, managing employee health records, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 24-40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
Program Management
- Preventative health education and wellness promotion
- Employee health assessments and treatment per policy
- Maintain and manage employee health records
Leave & Case Management
- Workers’ Compensation claims management
- New York State Disability benefits administration
- FMLA / PFL case management, tracking, and renewals
- Communicate employee status and return-to-work updates
Programs & Compliance
- Return-to-work program (light duty coordination)
- New hire fit-for-duty process (physicals, drug testing, immunizations)
- Annual health screenings (PPD, FIT testing)
- Employee health orientation and onboarding
- Participate in Workers’ Compensation and safety meetings
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Systems / Documentation
- Maintain policies, procedures, and health records
- Use computer systems for reporting and case tracking
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Knowledge and experience in Workers’ Compensation claims management
- Experience with FMLA and Disability case management
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) competency
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Unexpired government-issued photo ID
- Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start
- Physical exam completed within 12 months prior to start, signed by a licensed provider
- Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity documentation
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine records or declination
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start
- Professional references (2 within last 3 years)
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
- Compliance with New York State Nurse Aide Registry and Medicaid Exclusion List requirements
