Job Description
- Must have 2 years of recent, dedicated CVPICU experience (floating experience does not count).
- Ability to rotate shifts every 3-4 weeks; facility may try to accommodate straight shifts but cannot guarantee.
- Weekend requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday.
- Ratios: 1 nurse to 2 patients.
- Scheduling: Self-scheduled.
- On-call: Not required.
- Floating: May float within scope to other critical care units (NICU/PICU) as needed, no age cutoff.
- Return to Work (RTO) restrictions: No more than 7 days; if a full week off, must be made up at the end of the contract.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Locals accepted.
- Pending license accepted if proof of application and screenshot provided; license must be issued prior to start date.
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
- Start date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from submittal.
- Work setting: Pediatric CVICU.
- Scrub color: Any, no logos, must be child-friendly.
- Charting system: Cerner.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- Minimum 2 years of dedicated CVPICU nursing experience, with CVPICU experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience in an inpatient setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Additional Information
- Overtime billed after 48 hours for 4x12 shifts.
- Must confirm cardiac training in submittal.
- References: Two professional references dated within the past two years, preferably supervisors or managers.
- Employment application and skills checklist required.
- Must be able to provide a photo upon contract signature for badge processing.
- Parking is offsite with a monthly fee.
