Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Spokane, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Details
- Position floats between units
- Weekend work required every other weekend
- Block schedules required
- On-call not required
- Patient ratios depend on acuity
- Responsibilities include floor care, ER, code response, and rapid response
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Washington
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
Certifications (Must be current and valid)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- Other certifications as applicable per clinical track and unit requirements
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification required
- WA State Patrol Search within 90 days of start, updated every 2 years for certain facility types
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required annually for travel candidates
- Immunizations and screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination accepted
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
Training and Competency
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Competency exams required by specialty/unit
- Epic training modules completion required within a week of orientation
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
Additional Notes
- Float policy acknowledgement required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities
- Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
- No on-call duties required
- 48-hour shifts approved
This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to work across multiple units in a high-acuity, trauma center setting. Candidates must be prepared for weekend rotations and have all required licenses, certifications, and compliance documents current and ready prior to start.
