Job Description
- This position is weekend-only with a Friday-Sunday schedule.
- Floating is required; you will float to NICU, PICU, Emergency Department, Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical units as needed.
- Must be willing to comply with facility float expectations and will be assigned appropriately in these areas.
- Requires 2 supervisory references, with at least one from a supervisor or manager.
- Preferred experience: Close to 2 years in specialty.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatrics CVICU experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA certification only.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA certification only.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for NICU RNs.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) as applicable.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked).
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting within 60 days of start; must be updated for each new contract.
- Sex offender search and state-specific searches (Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Inmate Registry, Medicaid Exemption, Abuse Registry) within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start.
- Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement signed prior to start.
- Affiliating Health Record completed prior to start.
- Infection Control Policy review and acknowledgment prior to start.
- Fit mask testing (N95) required within 1 year of start; must be updated annually.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required to be renewed annually).
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within last year (with specific protocols for positive results).
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31) or approved exemption.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination.
- References: 2 professional references required (charge RN acceptable for one; peer references not accepted).
- Resume or employment application required.
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually.
