Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - NICU
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Must have 2 professional references at time of application; at least one must be a manager or supervisor.
- Required certifications/licenses: BLS, NRP, and Ohio State RN License.
- Float requirement: Will float to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS, and occasionally ED (rare). Also float to Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) NICU with frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement.
- Must be willing to comply with float expectations and assignments.
- Experience required:
- Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience.
- Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience within the last year
- Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics
Experience
- 2 years of Level III/IV NICU experience required (use the higher experience requirement).
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Must complete a criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked).
- Education verification required.
- Fingerprinting (OH BCI/FBI) required within 60 days of start and must be updated for each new contract.
- Drug screening within 60 days prior to start.
- Various state-specific background checks and registries required within 30 days of start.
- Required health documents include:
- Physical exam (within 1 year) or signed infection control policy.
- Immunizations and titers for TB, Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Tdap, and seasonal flu vaccine (or approved exemption).
- N95 fit testing within 1 year, updated annually.
- Must complete competency exams and unit-specific skills checklists annually.
- Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
Interview Process
- Two-part interview:
- Initial screening with Float Pool Leader within 24-48 hours of submission.
- Second interview with NICU unit manager based on initial feedback and resume review.
Notes
- Must be comfortable working in a high-acuity pediatric environment with complex patients.
- Willingness to float to multiple units and campuses as needed.
- Heavy parent involvement in care is expected in BPD NICU.
This position is ideal for experienced NICU RNs seeking a travel contract role with diverse pediatric critical care exposure in Ohio.
