Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
    • Thursday: 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM
    • Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Weekend Requirement: None
  • Float Requirement: None
  • Patient Focus:
    • Required skills in Orthopedic and Neurological therapy
    • Pelvic floor therapy patients highly preferred but not required
  • Hours: The three 6 PM days are required; shorter days are negotiable

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Michigan
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • At least 1 year of experience in outpatient Physical Therapy
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Demonstrated skills in Orthopedic and Neurological therapy

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including lifetime search and multiple verifications
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • I-9 and E-Verify documentation
  • Education verification (copy of highest degree or diploma)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Drug testing: 10-panel including Marijuana/THC within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (proof of at least one prior Tdap vaccine)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer each)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or documented declination)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (for candidates starting after November 1)
  • Fingerprinting (Michigan LARA) required within 45 days of start for certain positions; verify if applicable
  • Completion of required facility-specific policies and acknowledgments (e.g., Code of Conduct, Appearance Standards)

Additional Requirements

  • Professional reference from a supervisor or manager
  • Complete employment application/resume with full 7-year work history, no gaps
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency within 1 year prior to assignment start
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment

  • Fit testing may be required depending on work location and role; candidates must schedule and complete as instructed
  • Some certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required depending on unit assignment; verify as applicable
