Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience for a travel contract position. The role primarily involves working in Labor & Delivery (L&D), NICU, or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) settings with floating to PICU and some Pediatric Acute Care as needed. The shift is 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with an every-other-weekend requirement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
- Children's Hospital experience within the last 3 years or Level 1 adult facility experience as an alternative
- PICU experience
- Pediatric Acute Care experience
Shift Details
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12's)
- Every other weekend required
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Indiana Respiratory Therapist license verification within 30 days of start.
- Background checks including 7-year work/living history, criminal, sex offender registry, and education verification.
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirator models required).
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations (declinations not accepted)
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology test and unit competency exam.
- Completion of mandatory facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years.
Additional Notes
- Indiana licensed RNs will not be allowed to work at the facility after 11/30/24 except for perioperative, allied, and ambulatory RN roles.
- On-site fit testing is limited and must be approved if required.
- Candidates must complete all required certifications and documentation prior to start.
- Facility-specific compliance and confidentiality agreements must be completed as a priority.
This position is ideal for experienced respiratory therapists with NICU and pediatric critical care backgrounds who are comfortable with travel assignments and flexible scheduling.
