Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Call Requirements: None
• Time Off (RTO): Maximum 5 days off, no more than 2 consecutive days; no time off allowed on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
• Floating: Mandatory floating within scope of practice as needed, including mid-shift float
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Acute care experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

• Must pass background checks including nationwide and state-specific searches
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, updated annually
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required annually
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug test within 90 days of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

• Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted and preferred
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
• Floating is mandatory as per facility policy
