Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Call Requirements: None
- Time Off (RTO): Maximum 5 days off, no more than 2 consecutive days; no time off allowed on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
- Floating: Mandatory floating within scope of practice as needed, including mid-shift float
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Acute care experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
- Scrub color: Any color allowed
Additional Requirements
- Must pass background checks including nationwide and state-specific searches
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, updated annually
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required annually
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug test within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

- Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted and preferred
- No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
- Floating is mandatory as per facility policy
