Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Average Daily Census: 21 patients
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5 (days, nights, weekends)
• Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
• Floating: May float within scope to other Med Surg and similar units as needed
• Block Scheduling: Cannot contract to block scheduling but typically can schedule 3 shifts in a row
• Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
• On-call: Not required

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Med Surg experience with at least 1 year within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in Charge roles

Facility & Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
• Magnet recognized facility
• Total staffed beds: 562
• Charting system: Cerner
• Dress code: Any solid color scrub
• Parking: Permit required, no cost

Additional Requirements

• Background checks and verifications required (including criminal, sex offender, and state-specific searches)
• Physical exam within one year of start date, including labs
• Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within one year
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• Competency exam required for clinical candidates
• Photo for badge required before start
• References: 2 professional references required

Notes

• Must be able to start fingerprinting process in Illinois if not holding an IL license
• RTO (Return to Office) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
• Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay obligation
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
