Job Summary

Under the direction of a qualified physician, perform a variety of technical MRI procedures requiring minimal independent magnetic pulses for disease diagnosis.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and perform MRI procedures with at least 99% accuracy, following department standards.
• Schedule appropriate time for each patient and review requisitions regularly.
• Prepare opaque contrast media with 100% accuracy.
• Process images within 30 minutes after examination completion.
• Translate physician's orders into appropriate radiographic procedures with 99% accuracy.
• Maintain patient logs and equipment downtime records.
• Collaborate with radiologists to develop imaging protocols for optimal studies.
• Assume charge technologist responsibilities as needed, including report preparation.
• Respond to all “stat” and emergency studies as requested.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment following safety and hygiene procedures.
• Maintain productivity within 20% of the monthly average for the modality (except low-volume night shifts).
• Deliver excellent customer service to improve patient satisfaction.
• Monitor inventory and notify supervisor of supply needs with 95% accuracy.
• Charge patient exams as needed.
• Safely transport patients within the facility.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, reporting to senior technologist.
• Ensure all charges are properly recorded.
• Keep work area tidy to prevent injuries.
• Assist patients and families during their stay.
• Cover duties of absent MRI employees and cross-train in other areas if applicable.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist within the last year.
• ARRT (MRI) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
