Surgical Assistant - Travel Position

Location: Rochester, Minnesota
Specialty: Surgical Assistant

Position Overview

Assist surgeons/physicians during surgical procedures.
Knowledge of human surgical anatomy and surgical skills including suturing, use of surgical instruments, and patient positioning.
Understand principles of aseptic technique and perioperative policies.
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs in a multi-specialty perioperative setting.
Surgical specialties involved: general, orthopedic, neurological, spinal, ENT/radical neck, gynecological, urology, cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, trauma, plastic, colon-rectal, and pediatric surgery.

Contract Length

17 weeks

Qualifications & Experience

Graduate of a Surgical Assistant Program with relevant OR experience within the past 3 years.
Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) through NCCSA or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through NBSTSA preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Providers (AHA or Red Cross).
Ability to adapt to unpredictable perioperative situations.
Strong communication skills with patients and team members.
Able to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
