Job Summary

• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, focusing on comfort and clear communication.
• Perform ultrasound procedures, monitor patients throughout the process, and relieve pre-testing anxiety.
• Set up equipment and ensure timely administration of procedures.
• Review prior reports, images, and patient charts carefully.
• Ensure proper images are obtained, studies are complete, and appropriate techniques are used.
• Maintain records and logs of exams performed.
• Manage inventory and supplies for the assigned area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of Adult Echocardiography experience, including within the last year.
• Experience performing high-quality Adult Echo studies in accordance with ASE and IAC Guidelines.
• Experience in an inpatient setting.
• Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills.
• Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies.
• Experience scanning TAVR and MitraClip cases at a facility performing these procedures.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED.

Certifications & Licensure

• Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDCS) credential from ARDMS or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
