Job Opportunity: RN - PCU

Location: Greenville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Long Term

Job Description

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Staffing Ratio: 1 RN to 4 patients (pod format)
Patient Acuity: Comparable to ICU at smaller facilities
Patient Population Includes:
- Acute Stroke management (ischemic, hemorrhagic, SAH, etc.)
- Post Neuro-surgical management (craniotomy, ventriculostomy, complex neuro-spine)
- Seizure management (epilepsy, post-ictal, pseudo-seizures)
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Guillain-Barre Syndrome
Skills Utilized:
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Lumbar puncture assistance
- Arterial and central line management
- Care for tracheotomy patients
- Lumbar drains
- IV starts and peripheral lab draws
- Arterial blood draws
- Management of intravenous drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin)
- Cardiac monitoring

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

License: Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact accepted)
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA
Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips

Additional Information

Must pass Relias exams within 2 attempts prior to start
No blocked scheduling
All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to assignment confirmation
80-mile radius rule applies
