Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care

Location: Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin

Job Details

• Unit: 8-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care Unit (Telemetry)
• Patient Types: Stable, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, primary patients on insulin drips
• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• Shift: 12-hour variable shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Shift Rotation: Weekly or biweekly rotation; no blocked scheduling or paired travel schedule requests accommodated
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend (Fri-Sun) and every other holiday
• Float: Required to float to all inpatient units as needed, including other regional locations
• On Call/Call Back: None (except possible low census on-call hours with pay if called back)
• Scrub Color: Any color accepted

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Stepdown/Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit
• EPIC charting experience required
• Prior travel contract preferred but not required

• Must be able to work independently, manage tasks timely in a fast-paced environment
• Candidates should be resilient, adaptable to change, and socially engaged
• Contract includes eligibility for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours
• During flu season, flu and COVID vaccination is required; unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times per policy, with no exceptions
• Failure to comply with vaccination/mask policy may result in corrective action
