Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
• 13-week contract
• Start date: 9/14/26
• 12-hour night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Overtime after 48 hours worked

Schedule and unit expectations

• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• May float between Neuro Critical Care ICU and MSICU, with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
• Low-census scheduling may reduce hours in 4-hour increments; this is not considered on-call
• No on-call or call-back requirement

Required qualifications

• Wisconsin RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU background with strong neuro assessment skills

Preferred experience

• 1 travel assignment preferred
• Experience as a Neuro Interventionalist is a plus
• Familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring is needed

Clinical focus

• Neuro assessments
• Basic bedside ICU procedures, including line placement and intubation
• Bedside bolt and drain placements with Neurosurgery
• Care for neuro interventional patients in the future state

Additional notes

• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of Wausau
• EPIC charting experience required
• Flu and COVID vaccine declination requires mask use at all times during flu season, per policy
• Scrub color: any color
