Job Overview

• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
• Shift: 12-hour variable nights/days, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM or 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Weekend/holiday schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Float requirement: May float to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher-acuity units
• Low census: May be reduced in 4-hour increments; may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Intermediate Care (2 years of experience)
• Intermediate Care experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Ventilator/Trach experience
• Trauma experience
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ICU experience
• Trauma Level II experience
• EPIC charting experience

Unit Details

• 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit
• Heavy telemetry
• Common patient types include stable weaning vents/trachs, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Typical patient ratio: 4:1

Work Style

• Needs to work independently, manage change well, and complete tasks on time
• Fast-paced unit

• Flu season policy: If flu and COVID vaccination are declined, a mask must be worn at all times
