CT Technologist Position - Seattle, Washington
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Certified CT Technologist - ARRT (CT)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (R)
- Washington State RT License (must have at time of submittal)
- Must have Radiology Badge prior to starting assignment
Experience
- Must have experience with GE CT scanners
Department Information
- Department: Computed Tomography (CT)
- Number of scanners/rooms: 4 total
- 2 scanners in outpatient CT
- 1 scanner in Emergency Room (ER)
- 1 scanner in Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
- Staff rotate coverage between ER and CCU
- Possible float/coverage to Bellevue location (~16 minutes away) based on need; if assigned, coverage is for the duration of the contract
Job Duties and Imaging Types
- Perform all CT exams (basic and advanced), including:
- Pelvis colonography
- Coronary scans
- TAVR planning
- Most frequent scans: chest, abdomen, pelvis
- Must be able to start IVs
Workload
- Average scans per day:
- Seattle: ~20 per tech
- Bellevue: ~14 per tech
Technology and Systems
- EMR/PACS systems used:
- GE Centricity
- Philips PACS
- Cerner EMR
- Department-specific equipment: GE scanners
Scheduling and Shifts
- Set shifts, vary depending on need and contract
- Day shifts (8 hours, Monday-Friday):
- 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
- 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- 12-hour day shifts:
- 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM
- 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (depending on day)
- Night shifts (12 hours):
- 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM (4-10 hour shifts)
- Weekend and holiday coverage:
- CT runs 24/7, covered by 12-hour shifts
- Staff rotate weekend and holiday shifts
Additional Information
- No call or standby requirement for travelers, but may be asked if needed
- Dress code: navy, gray, or mix (scrub color)
- Orientation:
- Organizational-specific orientation with modules on first day
- Unit-specific orientation not formal, but new staff work with experienced techs during first week for safety and training
- Parking:
- Must pay for parking up until 7 PM (garage parking available with daily and monthly options)
- No parking reimbursement provided
This position is suitable for CT Technologists with required certifications and experience on GE scanners, comfortable with varied shifts including nights and weekends, and able to work in a fast-paced 24/7 CT department.
