Job Opportunity: Labor & Delivery RN (Travel Nurse)

Location: Show Low, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (6p-6a)
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Orientation: Every Monday
• Floating: May float to Emergency Department (ED) or Medical-Surgical (MS) units if experienced
• Call: One shift per 4-week schedule

Unit Information

• 7 Labor & Delivery beds
• 2 Triage beds
• 10 Postpartum beds
• 1-3 births per day (approximately 830 births per year)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:2
• Respiratory Therapist available 24/7
• Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians, Health Unit Secretaries, OB scrub techs, and Health Unit Coordinators
• No in-house OB/Neonatologist; 24/7 pharmacy available

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Intermediate or advanced Fetal Monitoring (NOT via AWHONN)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience (including C-section experience)
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and managing fetal distress
• Ability to care for high-risk patients, including those with pre-eclampsia
• Strong clinical assessment skills to handle OB emergencies independently until provider arrival
• Ability to function in both Labor & Delivery and couplet care settings

Additional Notes

• Nurses must be comfortable with occasional floating to other hospital units, typically MedSurg
• The environment offers a variety of outdoor activities nearby and proximity to Flagstaff and Phoenix
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
