Job Opportunity: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Sleep Tech)

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) via BRPT

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience preferred in:

  • PSG (Polysomnography)
  • CPAP titration
  • BiPAP titration
  • ASV and iVAPS experience required
• Must be able to run pediatric studies for patients at least 2 years old
• Prior travel experience is not required (first-time travelers are acceptable)

Patient Population & Diagnoses

• Outpatient setting
• Patients of all ages, including pediatrics (2 years and older)
• Common diagnoses:

  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea
  • Central Sleep Apnea
  • Restless Leg Syndrome
• Patients include all mobility levels, including wheelchair and bed-dependent
• Experience with IVAPs (intelligent volume assured pressure support) titrations and ASV required

Work Environment & Staffing

• Ratio: 2 techs to 1 patient
• Staffing pattern includes RN support on Monday nights for higher acuity patients
• Typically try to avoid working alone; another tech scheduled depending on census
• Equipment brands used: Nihon Kohden, Watchpat, Nomad

Shift Details

• Shift hours: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
• Weekend requirements: Sunday nights mandatory; Friday and Saturday optional/requested
• Holiday requirements: Usually closed; holidays worked only if requested
• Scheduling: No self-scheduling; manager assigns shifts and fills gaps

Orientation & Training

• Orientation Express program: 1-2 days daytime training plus first night shadowing
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

• Must be able to take constructive criticism from leadership and providers
• Dress code: Any solid color, clean and professional
• If previously worked at this facility, must have ended employment at least 6 months prior to application

This position is suitable for sleep techs with solid experience in polysomnography and titration therapies, comfortable working overnight shifts in an outpatient setting with a diverse patient population.
